Our History

History of Villa Capri

In August of 1967, Barbiere’s Villa Capri Italian Cuisine officially opened for business. Nick, Joyce, and their family worked together to manage their restaurant, creating the ideal place to showcase Nick & Joyce’s perfected recipes of years past. Being the only Italian restaurant in town, it was naturally a busy place catering to the hard working spirit of the Upper Peninsula.

Over time the customers not only came for the delicious & authentic Italian food, but the hospitality and atmosphere as well. A restaurant of family that was happy to greet their customers each night, and worked hard to serve them. The Barbieres strive to make the Villa what it continues to be today: a restaurant with exquisite, homemade Italian food and an environment that is both welcoming and relaxing.
